Stacey & Stephen’s Relaxed Wedding at Runcorn Town Hall

There’s something incredibly special about being asked to photograph another wedding for the same family. A few years ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Stacey’s brother’s wedding, so when Stacey and Stephen got in touch to ask me to capture their day at Runcorn Town Hall, it genuinely meant a lot.

As a wedding photographer, recommendations from previous couples are always one of the biggest compliments you can receive. It tells me that the experience was remembered just as fondly as the photographs themselves, and being invited back to document another family celebration is something I never take for granted.

A Relaxed Wedding Photography Experience

From our very first conversation, Stacey and Stephen were clear about what they wanted from their wedding photography: a relaxed experience with no pressure, no awkward posing, and no feeling of being constantly in front of a camera.

That approach fits perfectly with the way I work.

My aim throughout every wedding day is to capture people naturally, focusing on the real moments as they unfold — the smiles exchanged during the ceremony, the laughter between family members, the hugs, the happy tears, and all those little in-between moments that often become the most treasured memories.

For the group photographs and couple portraits, I always provide gentle guidance rather than stiff direction. I want couples to feel comfortable and to enjoy spending time together, not feel as though they’re taking part in a lengthy photoshoot.

Forgetting the Camera

One of the things I try hardest to do on a wedding day is help people forget that the camera is even there.

A big part of that is simply getting along with everyone, chatting, keeping things light-hearted, and, as anyone who has worked with me will know, usually attempting a few jokes along the way! Humour has a wonderful way of helping people relax, and relaxed people always look more natural in photographs.

Stacey and Stephen embraced that approach completely, which allowed me to capture genuine expressions and authentic moments throughout the day.

The Beauty of Runcorn Town Hall

Runcorn Town Hall is a venue I know intimately, having photographed many weddings there over the years. Its combination of stunning Victorian architecture, elegant interiors, sweeping staircases, and beautiful surrounding grounds makes it one of my favourite local venues for wedding photography.

The gardens provide the perfect setting for relaxed portraits, while the character of the building adds a timeless feel to every image. Knowing the venue so well means I can quickly find the best locations for photographs without taking couples away from their guests for long periods — something Stacey and Stephen particularly appreciated.

A Day Full of Genuine Emotion

What stood out most about this wedding was the atmosphere. It was a day filled with warmth, laughter, and genuine emotion, surrounded by the people who mean the most to Stacey and Stephen.

From the ceremony through to the celebrations afterwards, there was a real sense of everyone simply enjoying being together. Those are always the weddings I love photographing the most because the photographs become a true reflection of the day rather than a staged version of it.

Thank You

Stacey and Stephen, thank you for trusting me to capture such an important chapter in your story. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you both and to see so many familiar faces from your brother’s wedding again.

Days like this remind me why I love being a Runcorn Town Hall wedding photographer — not just because of the beautiful venue, but because of the wonderful people and the real moments that make every wedding unique.

If you’re planning a relaxed, natural wedding at Runcorn Town Hall and want photography that focuses on genuine emotions, authentic moments, and an enjoyable, stress-free experience, I’d love to hear from you.
