There are some weddings where the love between two people is impossible to miss, and Jonathan & Jack’s wedding at Keele Hall was certainly one of them.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Jonathan and Jack celebrated their marriage in a beautiful and emotional day filled with laughter, happy tears, plenty of surprises and a few moments that nobody saw coming!

From the very beginning, they were clear about what they wanted from their wedding photography. They didn't want a day dominated by photographs or forced poses. They wanted their photographs to reflect who they really are as a couple – relaxed, natural and completely themselves.

That is exactly the approach I love to take.

Natural wedding photography at Keele Hall

For me, wedding photography isn't about taking couples away from their guests every few minutes or creating moments that don't naturally happen.

It's about being there, watching, anticipating and capturing the moments as they unfold.

Jonathan and Jack wanted photographs that showed the real them – the emotions, laughter, little interactions and connections with the people who mattered most.

There was very little need to manufacture anything. Their relationship and affection for each other came through naturally throughout the day.

Of course, I still provided some gentle direction when it was needed, particularly during the group photographs and couples portraits, but the aim was always to keep things relaxed and enjoyable.

No awkward posing. No pressure. Just two people completely in love.

An emotional ceremony

The ceremony was one of those parts of the day where you could genuinely feel the emotion in the room.

With their family and closest friends around them, Jonathan and Jack made their commitment to each other in a beautiful ceremony filled with love and emotion.

These are the moments I love documenting most as a wedding photographer. The nervous anticipation beforehand, the glances between a couple, the reactions from parents and friends, and those little emotional moments that can easily be missed if you're not paying attention.

Rather than simply photographing the obvious moments, I was looking around the room for those reactions and connections – the tears, smiles and laughter happening around Jonathan and Jack.

Emotional speeches… and a surprise singing waiter!

If the ceremony brought the emotion, the speeches brought plenty of it too.

There were heartfelt words, laughter and some very personal moments as family and friends spoke about Jonathan and Jack.

But then came something that nobody was expecting.

A singing waiter!

What initially appeared to be an ordinary part of the wedding reception suddenly turned into a completely unexpected musical performance.

The reaction from the guests was fantastic, and it was one of those moments where being ready with the camera really matters. Surprise, laughter and sheer disbelief unfolded in front of me, giving me the opportunity to capture genuine reactions from Jonathan, Jack and their guests.

These are the photographs that tell the story of a wedding.

Not just the perfectly planned moments, but the moments that nobody planned at all.

A first dance to Taylor Swift

And then came the first dance.

Except this wasn't your typical slow, romantic first dance.

Jonathan and Jack had put some serious preparation into this one!

Their first dance was a highly choreographed and rehearsed routine to the sounds of their favourite artiste, Taylor Swift.

After all the planning and practising, it was time to put it into action.

The result was fantastic – full of personality, energy and fun. It was completely them, and the fact that they had clearly rehearsed the routine so carefully made it even more enjoyable for their guests.

It was another perfect example of why wedding photography should reflect the couple rather than follow a rigid formula.

Keele Hall – a stunning wedding venue

Set within beautiful grounds in Staffordshire, Keele Hall provided a spectacular setting for Jonathan and Jack's wedding day.

The historic architecture, elegant interiors and extensive grounds offer so many opportunities for wedding photography.

It is the kind of venue where you can move from intimate indoor photographs to beautiful outdoor portraits without losing the atmosphere of the day.

For Jonathan and Jack, the surroundings provided the perfect backdrop, but ultimately it was the people who made the photographs special.

Capturing the real Jonathan & Jack

Every couple is different, and that's why I don't believe wedding photography should be about making everyone fit into the same mould.

Jonathan and Jack wanted something natural, relaxed and authentic.

They wanted to look back at their wedding photographs in years to come and see themselves – not a version of themselves created for the camera.

That's exactly what I strive to achieve with every wedding I photograph.

I'll guide you when you need it. I'll organise the groups, help with the portraits and make sure we capture the important photographs.

But for the majority of the day, I'll be there quietly observing, anticipating and capturing the moments as they naturally happen.

The laughter.

The tears.

The hugs.

The glances.

The unexpected moments.

And all the little things that make your wedding day yours.

Jonathan and Jack's wedding at Keele Hall was a beautiful celebration of two people deeply in love, surrounded by the family and friends who mean the most to them.

From the emotion of the ceremony and speeches, to the surprise singing waiter and that unforgettable Taylor Swift first dance, it was a day filled with personality, love and plenty of wonderful memories.

Thank you, Jonathan and Jack, for allowing me to be part of it and for trusting me to capture your day exactly as it unfolded.

Looking for a natural wedding photographer?

If you're planning your wedding at Keele Hall, Staffordshire, or elsewhere across Cheshire, Staffordshire, Merseyside or the North West, and you're looking for a photographer who will capture your day naturally without making it feel like a photoshoot, I'd love to hear from you.

My approach is simple: relaxed photography, gentle guidance when needed, and plenty of genuine moments.

Your wedding should be about celebrating your marriage with the people you love – not spending the entire day posing for photographs.
